How we work

1. Commissioning

  1. Either we can find faithful photographs or images of the painting you wish to have painted or you may wish to supply them to us and tell us what size you would like the finished painting to be.
  2. We then select an artist who is experienced and expert in the period, style and subject of the painting you have selected.
  3. The chosen artist uses the images as reference in order to paint an exceptional likeness onto a blank canvas in the traditional manner, using only the finest raw materials.

(See Commissions for examples of recent paintings and the images used by our artists to paint them.)

2. Selecting from Stock
  1. Tell us the type of painting you would like.
  2. Oliver will bring a selection of canvases to you. These are very easily transported.
  3. You can then see the paintings in what might be their final settings.
  4. If you choose a painting, we then frame it in a frame which suits the period and style in which the original was painted. Framing usually takes between 2 and 3 weeks.

Timescale:

When commissioning a particular painting, the delivery of the finished article usually takes between six to twelve weeks.

Framing:

We also provide a huge range of frames. Thus you can be sure that we have frames to choose from which suit the period and style of the original painting. (See Contemporary Frames or Traditional Frames)

Deposit:

At the time of ordering we ask for a 50% deposit. If you are unhappy in any way with your finished painting, this is fully-refunded.

Pricing:

Paintings are individually priced according to their size and the amount of detail in them, particularly the number of figures. Prices generally range from £300 to £2,500.
